DIY Turmeric Face mask
Turmeric is found in vast majority of dishes in India and is considered to be one of the most healthiest foods in the world! Brides in India would apply a turmeric paste to their skin to make it have a healthy glow on their special wedding day.
Turmeric is one powerful healing spice. It is an anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and rich with antioxidants. It is great for combating dark marks, eczema, psoriasis, hyperpigmentation, and of course, acne. It is also said to even out the skin tone and diminish wrinkles. One of the staple active ingredients in curry is curcumin which has been shown in recent studies is effective in reducing inflammation and fighting cancers including colon, pancreatic, and breast cancer.
I, for one, use turmeric for my sensitive skin especially during the cold months where there isn’t much sunshine or Vitamin D.
Turmeric Face Mask:
- 1 – 2 teaspoons of filtered or distilled water
- 1 1/2 tablspoons of ground turmeric
- A few drops of honey (Optional)
I suggest doing this mask at least three times a week! But, make sure to be mindful and aware of your clothes because turmeric might stain them.
Hope you have fun!
